Course Description 

World History at the ninth grade level is a survey course that gives students the opportunity to explore recurring themes of human experience common to civilizations around the globe from ancient to contemporary times.  We will examine the world chronologically and thematically, focusing on the historical development of phenomena, the rise and fall of civilizations and their unique contributions to humanity, and the universal elements these civilizations have in common throughout time.

 

In World History we will study the following topics:

 
 I.      Early and Regional Civilizations

 II.      Renaissance, Reformation, Global Age

 III.      Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution
 IV.      New Global Age
 V.      World Wars and Revolutions
 VI.      Global Issues, The World Since 1945

 

 

 

If you are absent it is your responsibility to see teacher for missed assignments

 

If you are in school the day before a test/quiz, you will take test/quiz

 

If you forget one or all items you will be considered unprepared for class which results in detention

 

When we take notes- It will be silent

 

Note Taking- We will use Cornell Notes.  Notebooks will be collected and be given a quiz grade twice per semester.
