Coarse Description
Woodworking Technology is a elective course for 11-12 grade students.Woodworking Technology is a program of instruction, designed to meet the needs of students who would like to experience the joys and craftsmanship of woodworking. The course will teach the required skills to properly use the many tools and equipment in the wood shop environment. Safety and proficiency of tools are followed by hands-on use of tools and equipment. Independent student projects are carried out after the students successfully complete mandatory development projects, which display proficiency of both hand and power tools, including design/plan reading. This introductory course will also cover finishing, which will enable students to create and develop basic woodworking projects and apply stains and sealers. Students will learn and understand the concept of cabinetmaking as it relates to construction technology.
As a teacher I am here to teach; however, in this kind of environment a bond is formed between a teacher and a student. I will be there to guide and sculpt my students into great craftsmen. I will create work ethics beyond compare and fully understand each and every student's working stratigies.
