Wind Ensemble (Day A)
Wind Ensemble is an audition only group consisting of 10th through 12th graders.  This course meets every other day throughout the entire school year.  Wind Ensemble plays through a variety of challenging repetoire including G.F Handel's "Messiah".  The pre-requisite for this course is at least one semester of Concert Band from Memorial High School or the Senior High School and to participate in the audition process. 

Jazz Ensemble (Day B)
Jazz Ensemble is an audition only group consisting of 10th through 12th graders.  This course meets every other day throughout the entire school year.  In this course, we work on many different styles of Jazz Music and Education.  The students also are exposed to a variety of different performing and listening oppotunities.  Another topic that the students work on is improvisation through performing and listening. 

 

 

Theater Practicum 1 and 2

This is an academic and performance based course.  Students learn about the history of theater and musical theater and study the Stanislavski Russian/American Acting Method.  Students must perform throughout the semester in both group and individual settings.  


AP Music Theory
AP Music Theory is a very advanced music course that provides students with the knowledge of writing, reading, and composing music.  Students must take Theory I or pass the Theory I exam to be allowed into this course.  Students will experience Music Theory through performing, listening, hearing, and writing.  This course is very challenging and allows students to reach their complete potential and creativity through Music Theory.
