Grading Policies:

Project requirements

  • Each project has its own set of requirements for completion.  These requirements will be posted on the chalk board or given in handouts (worksheets) along with the assignment. Objectives for each assignment will posted in front of room for each assignment.
  • All projects will be graded by but not limited to looking at the following areas:  How well the Elements and Principals of Art usage reflects understanding within the body of the work, Craftsmanship of the work, Creativity or Elaboration shown in the art work, Completeness, and Work Habits or Effort put into each day the project is assigned.
  • If at anytime the work requirements seem unclear or confusing ask me for help or redirection. That’s why I am here!

Handing in work

  • Projects must be handed to ME upon completion. Do Not Leave Projects on My Desk or around the room unless otherwise instructed to do so.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure that assignments are handed in on time.
  • YOUR NAME (first and last) MUST BE ON ALL ASIGNMENTS followed by the block number. NO shortened version will be accepted.

Make up work

  • ALL MAKE UP WORK MUST BE COMPLETED ON YOUR OWN TIME NOT IN CLASS! You may sign out supplies from the teacher or set a time to come after school to make up the missing work.
  • Students choosing to cut class or school will not be allowed any make up of missing work.
  • If you are suspended and the work is sent home, it is expected that the work be completed upon your return to class.  The same applies to ACI (ISS).

Late work

  • 5 points will deducted from your total grade for every day an assignment is late until that grade reaches failing.
  • Late work can be handed in anytime before the end of the marking period.

Redo work

  • Any Assignment may be fixed or redone, after work is handed back, for a better grade. You will have two weeks to hand the work back in fixed or redone after receiving the original grade.  The new grade will be the average of the two grades (the original and the redone).

Art folder

  • You will be asked to keep a folder containing all worksheets and notes given in class to be used as a study guide for all tests including your final exam.  This folder will also contain work-in-progress through out the class.
